Why We Don’t Recommend Delivery of RAW Footage

So, you might have heard someone say, “Make sure you get your RAW footage.” It’s a pretty common thing people ask for, but we’ve got some reasons why we think it might not be the best idea.

First things first, let’s break down what RAW footage is all about.

What is RAW footage?

Well, RAW footage is basically what comes straight out of the camera—no touch-ups, no edits, nada. It’s raw and unfiltered, which means it’s gonna be massive in size and probably not too exciting to look at right away. Think of it as the rough draft before the final masterpiece.

Why You Probably Don’t Want It

We like to shoot with a cinematic vibe in mind, which means we’re snapping up loads of clips—some might even seem random or shaky on their own. But when we put them all together, they weave a beautiful story. Grabbing just one clip out of the bunch might not make much sense by itself.

Another thing, is the audio. The audio on camera is not good quality, which is why we use external sources to capture audio. You won’t get the clean and crisp audio you hear in your film. So, if you’re after that polished audio experience, RAW footage might not be your best bet.

Preserving Copyright

You know how photographers don’t hand out their unedited pics? Well, we’re kinda the same. Our videos have a certain style and vibe, and we like to keep it that way. Giving out RAW footage means others could mess around with our work, and that’s a no-go. We want to protect our artistic style and make sure our videos look up to our standards.

What Do We Offer?

Besides our highlight wedding films, we offer a type of video called “the Extended Film”. It’s like the director’s cut version of your day—longer, with all the bells and whistles, and it covers everything from start to finish. This is what most folks are really after when they talk about RAW footage—a neat, watchable version of your whole day. You can get the “Extended Film” as an add-on to the packages that doesn’t include it for $500.

Is there really no way to get the RAW footage?  We really need it!

Well, of course there is a way. As much as we encourage every client to NOT GET the RAW footage, at the end of the day we are running a business, and we need to create as much income as possible to keep doing what we love. So, if you are looking to buy the RAW footage, we are willing to sell it at a high price, that hopefully, after reading all the cons in this page, will make you choose not to pay.  The price is $600 (includes home delivery of a physical Hard Drive with all the RAW files ).
